LIVING IN COMPASSION
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Compassion can sound like a soft word until you realize the Bible treats it like a spiritual standard and a life-or-death practice. We open with God’s promise in Isaiah 49:10 and a prayer that God gives us hearts shaped by mercy, because we believe compassion is one sure way to push back evil and bring light into real situations.
From Hebrews 5:1–5, we talk about why compassion belongs at the center of Christian discipleship. Compassion is not just feeling sorry for people; it is a deep response that turns into practical action, forgiveness, and help for those who are struggling. We walk through key scriptures like Exodus 34:6–7 to show compassion as God’s nature, then connect it to the way Jesus moved toward people in need. When Jesus looked at the crowds and felt compassion (Matthew 9:36), it wasn’t sentimental, it was the spark that led to provision, healing, and restoration. We also ask a direct question: what happens inside us when we see someone else’s pain?
We then press into what compassion looks like as a daily lifestyle: loving beyond our circle, choosing mercy over empty rules, and letting the world recognize Christ through our love (John 13:34–35). Finally, we bring it home with Matthew 25:35–40, where compassion for the hungry, thirsty, sick, and imprisoned is treated as compassion offered to Christ himself. If you want your faith to be visible, durable, and real, this message will give you a clear biblical framework and a practical challenge.

Welcome And Isaiah Promise
SPEAKER_00Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. We welcome you to the hour of the word of our living God. You are welcome in the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. In the book of Isaiah, chapter 49, verse 10. Isaiah 49, verse 10. The Bible says, They shall not hunger nor thirst. Neither shall the heat nor sons smite them. For he that have mercy on them shall lead them. Even by the springs of water shall he guide them. Compassion is the nature of our God. May God have compassion on us all. This is a sure way to ensure that no evil shall befall us in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. I also pray that God will grant us the heart of compassion to fulfill its divine mandate in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Opening Prayer For Compassion
SPEAKER_00Our loving Father and our Redeemer, we worship you. Thank you for your compassion and favor that endures forever. Thank you for your love for us that gives you a compassionate mind for us. Father, our prayer is that you will grant us the grace to be able to live a life of compassion. This is the greatest evidence of a great disciple. In your word today, Lord, please grant us the grace and benefit to know and accept a life of compassion. Till we see you in glory, Lord. Please uphold us that your love in us will radiate your glory to the world. Let it be so, Lord. For we have prayed in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
Message Topic And Hebrews Reading
SPEAKER_00The topic of our message is living in compassion. Living in compassion. Our little text is taken from the book of Hebrews, chapter 5, we read verses 1 to 5. Hebrews chapter 5, we read verses 1 to 5. For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins. Who can have compassion on the ignorant and on them that are out of the way? That he himself also is compassed with infirmity, and by reason hereof he ought as for the people, so also for himself to offer for sins. And no man maketh this honor to himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron, so also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest, but he that said unto him, Thou art my son, today have I begotten thee. Hallelujah.
What Compassion Really Means
SPEAKER_00Brethren, the Bible teaches compassion as a core part of God's character and a vital command for believers. It is not just a feeling of pity, but a deep emotional response that moves people to take practical action, help the needy, and forgive others. Now, what does compassion represent? What does compassion represent? Number one, it is the nature of our God. Compassion is the nature of God. Our living God is defined by unfilling his compassion, describing scripture as deep, active, mercy like a parent's tender care that is renewed every morning to restore, to forgive, and heal the brokenhearted. In the book of Exodus, chapter 34, verses 6 and 7. Exodus 34, verses 6 and 7, the Bible says, And the Lord passed by before him and proclaim the Lord God, merciful and gracious, long suffering and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty.
Compassion As A Seed For Miracles
SPEAKER_00Number two, compassion is the basis for miracles. Compassion is a major basis for miracles. In Matthew chapter 9, verse 36. He says, But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them because they fainted and were scattered abroad as sheep having no shepherd. He decided to multiply the little food that was available to feed the Lord with excess thereafter. The point for us here is how do you feel when you see people who are miserable? One of the signs of a newborn in Christ is to feel for others and make attempts to help them. If you are still happy or moved, seeing others in their predicament, then you need to seek God for a heart of flesh where the Holy Spirit can reside. If you have compassion, then God can start using you for his miracles. A man of hardy mind cannot even serve God, talkless of running miracles on his behalf. Number three, compassion is God's model for his disciples. God expects man to mirror his own deep, active compassion, rather than just a feeling of pity. The Bible shows that compassion requires tangible action, mercy over strict ritual, and loving one's neighbor as oneself without conditions or social boundaries. Disciples are expected to be actively involved. Kindness and care for people is more useful than empty religious rules or sacrifices. The Bible in the book of John, chapter 13, verses 35 and 34. John 13, verses 35 and 34 recorded, our Lord Jesus has saying, A new commandment I give to you, that ye love one another as I've loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciple if you have love for one another. Discipleship is loving all, not just your friends, but even your enemies. Pray for them to see the love of Christ in you as you have seen in them. This will bring the entire world to a great harmony.
Compassion As Discipleship And Life Lift
SPEAKER_00Number four, compassion is a recipe for elevating life. Compassion is a great recipe, a perfect recipe for elevating life. Imagine a life filled with love, with compassion, with consideration for fellow human beings, provision for the weak, justice for all, and encouragement to the vulnerable people. How beautiful would the world have been if this is the case? What a beautiful world it will have been. This is the first commandment. And the second one is like it, namely this thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than this. And
Compassion And Salvation In Matthew 25
SPEAKER_00finally, brethren, compassion is valid for salvation. Compassion is a valid requirement for salvation. In the book of Matthew, chapter 25, verses 35 to 36. Matthew 25, verses 35 to 36. Jesus gave the parable of the compassionate. The Bible recorded it that then shall the king say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and ye gave me meat. I was thirsty, ye gave me drink. I was a stranger, ye took me in. I was naked, and ye clothed me. I was sick, ye visited me. I was in prison, and ye came unto me. And in verse forty of that chapter 25, it was recorded that and the king shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. God sees our compassion to others as compassion to himself. It's not just to the poor, even the rich ones have needs. We must be compassionate to ourselves. We must have perfect understanding, even when we fail our mutual expectation. If you want to make heaven, please be compassionate to the weak, to the strong, and to your contemporaries and even your enemies. This is what love that conquered judgment is all about.
Love Command And Final Charge
SPEAKER_00In conclusion, brethren, there's no religion teaching or belief that can override the law of compassion. No, God's love for us is shown in his compassion and love for us. It is shown in his readiness to forgive us and give us the time to reconcile ourselves back to him. It is built around his pleas that we should encourage the broken-hearted and bring them back to their feet. We are all involved. It's not peculiar to any sector of the society. It is the perfect will of God. And God said in the book of John, chapter 15, verses 11 and 14, that this thing have I spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, that ye love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you. It is my prayers that God will grant us the power, the will, and the wisdom to do his will. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
