GIVING PERMISSION FOR AFFLICTION (PART 6)
A secret shared, a calling surrendered, and a strength that slipped away without a sound. We trace Samson’s turning point with Delilah to ask a pressing question: where are we handing out permission slips to our own afflictions? From a foundation of worship and gratitude, we move into a candid look at pride, boundaries, and the quiet way spiritual power departs when we treat consecration like a game.
We unpack how Samson’s Nazarite identity wasn’t just a rulebook; it was the guardrail for his God-given purpose. The moment he told “all his heart,” he didn’t just reveal a secret—he yielded stewardship of grace. Anchored in 1 Corinthians 1:31, we challenge the reflex to glory in ourselves and rely on yesterday’s victories. Presumption says, “I’ll shake free as before.” Presence says, “Abide and obey.” You’ll hear three focused prayer tracks: reversing shame and sabotage like God overturned Ahithophel, renewing dedication to never grieve God’s presence, and exposing Delilah-like influences that drain conviction under the mask of affection.
We also face a harder truth from Genesis 6:5: human hearts can tilt toward continual evil. That’s not a cue for fear, but for discernment—trusting God fully while wisely weighing alliances, voices, and motives. Discernment is not cynicism; it’s allegiance to God above charisma, networks, or comfort. As we preview part two on the loss of Samson’s sight—an image of vision cut off—we invite you to guard what God entrusted, protect your boundaries, and keep the presence of God as your non-negotiable center.

Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. We bring to you good tidings, Calvary greetings, and the living word of God. We pray for his abundant blessings for all our listeners in the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let us pray. Eternal Rock of Ages, our Redeemer and our God, we worship you. Thank you for the grace and privilege to see another year. Thank you for winning all our battles for us. Thank you for our victory by your grace. Thank you for this ministry and your living spirit that is powering it. We look up to you for perfection and greater testimonies of your goodness this year and beyond. Father, please glorify your name. Let your word be a witness to your goodness to us this year. Let our lives witness a total turnaround for good. These are many more we ask through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen. The topic of our message is giving permission for affliction. Giving permission for affliction. If my head is shaved, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak and be like any other man. When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called the Lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up again, for he has told me all his heart. Then the Lord of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hands. She made him sleep on her nails. And she called a man and had him shave off the seven logs of his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him. And she said, The Philistines are upon you something. And he awoke from his sleep and said, I will go out as at other times and shake myself free. But he did not know that the Lord had left him. And the Philistines seized him and gouged out his eyes and brought him down to Gaza and burned him with bronze shackles. And he ground at the meal in the prison. Brethren, we thank God for all the blessings of the last few weeks through this podcast. Today we will be discussing an aspect of what a captured warrior sees before his captors. Death can be better than some shame in some situations. I pray that none of us will have this kind of experience or anything near it in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. And he said, The Philistines are upon you, Samson. So he awoke from his sleep and said, I will go out as before, as other times, and shake myself free. But he did not know that the Lord had departed from him. Delilah realized that she had finally destroyed her husband. She knew his power has been withdrawn, yet she called him out to put him to shame. Samson also thought God's instructions on being a Nazarite was a joke. Having played an expensive game with his covenant, the power and the presence of God left him. He became like a useless doll that was captured just like a common toy. We are nothing without the power and the presence of God. Unfortunately, Samson never realized this. He kept on saying, Oh, I will do this, I will do that. God's exit means emptiness and total failure for any man. In 1 Corinthians chapter 1, verse 31. The Bible says, He who glories, let him glory in the Lord. Anyone who glorifies in his own self, he's a fool. Something was a big one. I pray that God's presence and power will not depart from us in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. These are the areas where our prayers will center around today. Now, prayer number one. We say, Father, in this new year and beyond, anyone and everyone planning to call me, all my family, all my business out for shame, for disgrace, for dishonor. Please, Lord, turn the shame and disgrace and the dishonor on their head. Like you destroyed the plans of Haitophel in the life of David. Please, Lord, raise faithful and loyal partners and friends like Ushai to counter and destroy their plans in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Prayer number two. We say, My Father and my God, I plead with you on the honor of your name, with you on the power in your word, with you in the great covenant in your blood. These three I believe, Lord. Please let me never do what will make your power or your presence leave me. I also dedicate myself, like Simon Peter said in John chapter 6, verses 68 and 69, that Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also, we have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God, our Father and our Lord. We rededicate our lives to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We will never leave your presence, and we plead that you never leave us, Lord. You are our hope and glory. Thank you, our great Lord God. Please hearken to our pleas in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Prayer number three. We say, My Father and my God, anyone and everyone, be it friends, accomplice, or relatives, acting like the learner in my life, in my family, or my business. Please, Lord, expose them, disgrace them, be their instruments and strategies to lose their power now, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Every action plan and action to destroy God's covenant and plans for my life. Please, Lord, rescue me and make me triumph over the plans of the evil men in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Let us not trivialize what men can do, both in the open and in the secret. God that created man had this to say of men. In the book of Genesis, chapter 6, verse 5. Genesis 6, verse 5, the Bible says, Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. My prayers is that every evil thought of any man will not manifest against us in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Don't be carried away by those laughters, those huggings, those banters, well wishes and healings. The scripture cancel against putting our ultimate trust in man, viewing it as foolish and potentially cost because humans are fallible, mortar and prone to deceit, unlike God, who is eternally faithful and powerful. Instead, believers are urged to trust God with their whole heart, acknowledging him in all ways, finding refuge in him, and not relying on earthly leaders or companions for ultimate salvation or help. Though, whilst discernment is still needed for human relationship, may this counselor continually be our guide and trust always. Amen. In the next episode, we will be discussing the second part of how a former warrior turned to a puppet is treated. His eyes were removed. This translates to practically and spiritually ending his vision. Please join us in this interesting topic. Want to appreciate you for your patience and interest in listening to this broadcast.
