GIVING PERMISSION FOR AFFLICTION (PART 2)
What if the danger in your life isn’t breaking in, but being invited? We open Romans 6:23 and walk into Judges 16 to explore how disobedience and infatuation quietly open doors to affliction. Samson’s story becomes a mirror: strong gifting, porous boundaries, and relentless pressure that dresses itself as love.
We unpack the emotional logic that made Delilah’s demands feel reasonable and why secret testing turned into spiritual exposure. Using James 1:14–15, we trace the progression from desire to death with practical honesty: desire draws you out, entices you, conceives in secrecy, and matures into choices that cost you peace, calling, and credibility. This isn’t a tale for the distant past; it’s a pattern many live today when love is measured by access, not wisdom. We talk plainly about how intelligent people become vulnerable when they treat God’s instructions as suggestions and when affection outruns discernment.
To move from warning to wisdom, we guide you through three focused prayer strategies: renouncing the spirits that normalize disobedience, breaking attraction to harmful influences in people and culture, and asking God to expose and frustrate hidden schemes around your life, family, and work. Along the way, we reflect on how personal compromise stains witness and puts the anointing under suspicion, making the stakes far bigger than private failure. We also preview part two, where we walk through the steps that led to Samson’s collapse, so you can spot and stop similar patterns early.

Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. We bring to you good tidings, cavalry greetings, and the living word of God. We pray for his abundant blessings for all our listeners. In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Amen. In Romans chapter 6, verse 23. Romans 6, verse 23, the Bible says that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of life is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Disobedience to God is a sin and could result in physical and spiritual death. Some sin's disobedience to God's instructions amounted to physical and spiritual death. May we not have this kind of experience in the mighty name of Jesus Christ? Amen. Thank you for the grace to be alive and in your presence. Father, today through this ministration, let there be deliverance, salvation, and full restoration to all our listeners. Let your name alone be glorified. Thank you, everlasting Father. In Jesus' name we have prayed. Amen. The topic of our message is giving permission for affliction. Giving permission for affliction. Part two. Our little text is from Judges chapter sixteen, we read verses eight to ten. Judges sixteen, we read verses eight to ten. So the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven fresh bowl strings, not yet dried, and she bound him with them. Now men were lying in wait, staying with her in the room, and she said to him, The Philistines are upon you, Samson, but he broke the bowstrings, as strands of yarn breaks when it touches fire. So the secret of his strength was not known. Then Delilah said to Samson, Look, you have mocked me and told me lies. Now please tell me what you may be bound with. Brethren, last week we started the story of that powerful man, Samson. We stopped where he started an expensive game with his careless wife, Deliner. He actually lied to his wife, and the wife sold the lie to the Philistines. They were disappointed that he lied to them. They actually came to harm and hurt him. He arose and attacked them back. This girl, the wife, infuriated, and she confronted Samson. The Lila cajoled him for another trial. She accused him of mocking her for not showing her how to destroy him. Each time I read this encounter, some sort of fear usually grips me. Human beings are one of the most complex beings created by God. How can someone who claims to love you be quarreling with you after you have deceived her in an attempt to destroy you? How? My understandings are as follows. Number one, Samson was under a spiritual attack, having disobeyed God's instructions not to marry a stranger. You can joke with anything, but not God's order and instructions. In which you are forsaken God. Confusion that destroys something was simply waiting to happen. Number two, infatuation is momentary loss of sense of reasoning. It makes many intelligent people become morons with their tender damage to their destinies. In James chapter 1, verses 14 and 15. James chapter 1, verses 14 and 15, the Bible says, But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then when desire is conceived, it gives birth to sin. And sin when he's full grown brings forth death. He was struggling with the cause of disobedience to God and the state of his drunkenness. He is destined to be doomed. This was the case of Samson. This is where we pick our major prayer points today. Prayer number one. We say, Father, any spirit and every spirit that encourages me to disobey you, please, Lord. Help me destroy such spirit. I declare my total loyalty to you and your rules, Lord. I surrender myself under your authority, Lord. Please shield me from every influence of disobedience in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Prayer number two. My father and my Lord, please take every attraction to evil men and women away from me. My mind is purified to love after the wish and counsel of the Lord. I rebuke every spirit of attraction to evil men and women in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I rebuke every spirit attracting me to evil music, evil cultures, evil traditions, evil spirits in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. My mind and affection remains with the Holy Spirit and everything around the working of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Prayer number three. Father, the spirit of the living God remains steadfast with me always. I will never keep silent to the plans of the evil ones. God will expose, frustrate, and disgrace open every plan of the agents of the devil around me, around my family, around my business, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Brethren, in the next episode, the various activities leading to the eventual downfall of Samson will be discussed. It was a big fall. A fall that did not just affect Samson, but his anointing was put into disrepute. I pray that we will never be raised for a disgraceful fall in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Thank you for this message, which we believe is inspired by you. We pledge our allegiance to you, Lord. Nothing will be able to pitch us against your instructions and wish. We will serve and obey you to the end, Lord. Every conspiracy against our lives and ministry, we declare them to fail by the power and the blood of Jesus Christ. Every collaboration of the evil ones, we turn against them in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Thank you, Jehovah Jair. In Jesus' wonderful name, we have prayed. Amen.
