Wisdom To Overcome
Ever felt like you’re pushing a truck with no fuel, straining hard and going nowhere? We unpack why wisdom, not just knowledge, is the turning point for real breakthrough, drawing on Proverbs 4:7 and the bold promise of James 1:5. With practical stories and heartfelt prayers, we explore how humility before God turns helpless moments into steps of clarity, courage, and progress.
We walk through the difference between collecting facts and practicing wisdom, showing how timing, motives, and obedience matter as much as information. Solomon’s path becomes our guide: he honored God first, stewarded his calling, and asked for understanding before anything else. That posture opened doors he never chased and shaped a legacy that outlasted his reign. Along the way, we confront common traps: acting outside our lane, rationalizing small obedience, and confusing activity with fruit. Wisdom is not louder; it is truer, teaching us when to wait, when to act, and how to align our decisions with God’s heart.
This episode also offers four focused prayer points to help you move from intention to transformation: a life that pleases God daily, a servant heart that doesn’t count the cost, a request for God’s open check to bless others without limit, and protection against opposition that resists God’s work in you. If you’re ready to ask boldly and live wisely, join us for a grounded, hope-filled journey toward overcoming by God’s guidance and grace.
If this speaks to you, follow the show, share it with someone who needs wisdom today, and leave a quick review so others can find it. Your story matters—what wisdom are you asking God for this week?

Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. We bring to you good tidings, cavalry greetings, and the living word of God. We pray for his abundant blessings for all our listeners in the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Amen. In Proverbs chapter 4, verse 7. Proverbs 4, verse 7, the Bible says, Wisdom is the principal thing. Therefore, get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. It is my prayers that in all our undertakings, God will minister wisdom to us. We will not behave foolishly. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Let us pray. Our Father and our God, we worship and adore you. Thank you for the grace to continue to learn at your feet. Thank you, Lord, for being the source of our knowledge and wisdom. Father, we pray that through this message you will minister wisdom to our lives. Any foolish act that we have embarked upon before now, you will grant us grace for a way out to the glory of your name. We will turn out to be great overcomers through your wisdom, Lord. Thank you for helping us to be better daily. In Jesus' mighty name, we have prayed. Amen. The topic of our message is the wisdom to overcome. The wisdom to overcome. Our little text is taken from James chapter 1. We read verse 5. James chapter 1, verse 5. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God. Who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. I repeat, if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Brethren, it can be frustrating to feel helpless when we cannot understand something or when the situation is outside our control. But the truth is that no man knows it all. The truth is also that there is nothing that is beyond the control of our Lord God. The wisdom to know what is beyond us and call for help of the one who is the giver of wisdom is what makes the difference in life. This is wisdom in itself. The passage we read confirmed that individuals must come to the realization and humility of what he or she lacks. When a car is running out of fuel, wisdom is for the driver to start directing his route to the nearest gas station. When we continue to act in a situation that is beyond us, it's called foolishness. It's taken to pushing truck without fuel uphill. It will involve so much effort with little result. Some people are knowledgeable in one area, go to other areas that they are less familiar to make a mockery of themselves, thinking they can apply tricks. No, it doesn't work. The passage also confirmed that it's only God that has the ability to give wisdom without fail. Google can give limited knowledge of a subject, but wisdom goes beyond knowledge. It's the correct application of knowledge. The passage also confirmed that God gives liberally. A young king called Solomon in the Bible, after constructing a great building for God, the first of his kind, and in dedicating the building, gave a big sacrifice to God. He then had an encounter in the dream with God on Mount Gibeon. In 1 Kings chapter 3, verses 7 and 8. 1 Kings chapter 3, verses 7 and 8. The Bible says, Now the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was a great high place. Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. At Gibeon, the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, Ask what shall I give you? One thing about wisdom is that it is those who have it that appreciates it. King Solomon didn't build the biggest palace for himself first. No, he made the building of God's worship place a priority. That is wisdom in itself. He also saw it as a privilege to be so honored in building it. That is also a wisdom. He gave a thousand bond offerings at the altar. Even if he was killing rats, a thousand is an unusual number. Imagine a thousand cows. Wow. No wonder he got an open check from God. Before we look at his response, I want us to quickly pray these prayers as I close this episode. In the next episode, we will be looking at his answer and what he got from God. Prayer number one. My father and my God, please inspire me to please you all the days of my life. Let what I will be doing from now on be what will gladden you, Lord. Never will I make you sad again till I see you in glory. Please, Lord, make me a source of joy and happiness to your kingdom in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Let my whole life be dedicated to pleasing you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Prayer number two. We say, Father, let me receive today the spirit that doesn't look back while serving you. All the economic calculations that can make me start rationalizing what I will give to you who gave me all that I have. I rebuke those spirits in the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Let me serve you without counting the cost, Lord. Let me give my all in all in serving you, Lord. Thank you for accepting me to serve you, Lord. In Jesus' mighty name, I have prayed. Amen. Prayer number three. My Father and my God, grant me the grace to receive an open church from you. Use my life, Lord, to define abundance of blessings to the world in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Let me receive without limit, Lord. So much so that the whole world will testify that it can only be you, Lord. Thank you, my Father, my God. In Jesus' name, I have prayed. Amen. Brethren, prayer number four. Everyone and anyone that is counted in opposition to my blessings, show them, Lord, that you are a consuming fire. Everyone that is fighting your blessings in my life, openly or secretly, Father, let them taste bitterness in the area of their lives that matters most. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. I will appreciate it if we can raise this prayer point for a few days and see our living God in action. We want to thank you for your interest and patience in listening to this broadcast. We believe that you have been blessed. Please help share with as many people as possible. You can also listen to this message and several other previous ones on our podcast streaming, codenamed Voice of Trinity. God bless you richly as you do so. Amen. My name is Benjamin Olasukami Olami Julon. Let us pray. Our wonderful Lord and God, we worship you. Thank you for the opportunity to hear your words again. Thank you for the power and inspiration in your word. In Proverbs chapter 12, verse 15, the Bible says, The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who hits the counsel is wise. Father, we pray that the spirit of foolishness will depart from our lives. The spirit of wisdom is permanently restored to our lives in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Thank you, our Redeemer and Master. In Jesus' mighty name, we have prayed. Amen.
