What does it truly mean to belong to the Lord in both life and death? Diving deep into Romans 14:8, we explore the profound concept of total commitment to Jesus Christ—the very essence of discipleship.

This powerful message unpacks the paradoxical relationship between spiritual growth and suffering. Drawing from scripture and real-life illustrations, we examine the hallmarks that define authentic disciples: following Christ's perfect example, developing perseverance through trials, and the remarkable ability to maintain joy even in difficult circumstances. Like eggs that fulfill their purpose when transformed by hot water, believers often discover their greatest ministry emerging from their deepest pain.

We contrast the secular mantra "no pain, no gain" with the spiritual truth that "His pain is our gain." While worldly success comes through self-effort, our spiritual transformation flows from Christ's sacrifice. Through personal testimonies and biblical examples like Job and the man born blind, we see how God redeems our suffering and positions us to minister effectively to others experiencing similar challenges.

This message offers hope and perspective for anyone navigating life's trials. You'll discover how God uses even your most difficult experiences to refine your faith and prepare you for purpose. As we embrace the crucible of discipleship, we find that the journey—though marked by challenges—leads to "joy inexpressible and full of glory" as described in 1 Peter.

Join us in exploring how your relationship with Christ can transform every circumstance into an opportunity for growth and ministry. Have you considered how your trials might be preparing you for a deeper purpose in God's kingdom?

SPEAKER_00:

Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. We bring to you good tidings, cavalry greetings, and the living word of God. We pray for his abundant blessings for all our listeners. In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Amen. In Romans chapter 14, verse 8. Romans 14, verse 8, Apostle Paul wrote, For if we live, we live to the Lord. If we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. This is a statement of total commitment of our total being to our Lord Jesus Christ. This is what discipleship is all about. Existing for Jesus Christ. I pray our journey will ultimately come to this realization and fulfillment in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Thank you for the opportunity in discipleship to pattern our lives after you, Lord. Your teachings encourage us to seek after you. In John chapter 14, verse 12. You even promise us that if we believe in you, that the works that you do, we will also do, and greater works than these we will do. Father, by the reason of your promise, please empower us to do exploit as your disciples. In Jesus' mighty name, we have prayed. Amen. The topic of our message is the pains and gains of discipleship. The pains and gains of discipleship. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith be much more precious than good that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom have we not seen, you love. Though now you do not see him yet, believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Brethren, we thank God for his inspiration in the last two series on this topic. We have discussed extensively the pains and givings of discipleship. We have also examined the hallmarks of our relationship as God's disciples. We have discussed finding divine purposes in trials, trusting God's sovereignty, faith tested through hardship with spiritual growth and maturity in faith. Today we will examine a few more hallmarks in this broadcast as we move forward in these discussions. The fifth hallmark is the example of Jesus Christ, the example of Jesus Christ. In Romans chapter 6, verse 4. Romans 6, verse 4, the Bible says, Therefore, we were buried with him through baptism into death. That just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Are you crucified with Christ? Or are you raised with him? Jesus is our perfect example in discipleship. This is all mark that we shall be examining is endurance and perseverance. Endurance and perseverance. Believers are encouraged to be prepared for trials, practice patience, and rely on God's wisdom to get through them. While many non-disciples are struggling to maintain sanity even in a life of affluence and joy and abundance, a good disciple will be smiling and singing even while going through great trials. In James chapter 5, verses 10 and 11. James 5, verses 10 and 11. The Bible says, My brethren, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord as an example of suffering and patience. Indeed, we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seeing the end intended by the Lord, that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. Finally, the last hallmark is turning pain into ministry, turning our pains into ministry through enduring and overcoming personal pain. Believers are uniquely positioned to minister to and assure others who are also going through trials. People from a popular tribe in Nigeria will only take some medications for an ailment once there is a witness of personal experience of someone on that medication. We know that this man is a sinner. He answered and said, Whether he's a sinner or not, I do not know. One thing I know that though I was blind, now I see. Let your testimonies, even in your trials, be that Jesus is your deliverer and strength. This will strengthen and encourage other people's faith. Many ministers of God arose from their pains and troubles to become great evangelists as a result of their unique experience of salvation. In real life situation, brethren, eggs become hardened and start fulfilling the purpose of a meal when boiled in hot water. May we all find great fulfillment of serving God's purpose even in our trials, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Finally, in secular word, we often hear the statement of no pain, no gain. This talks of self-earned success. As disciples of God, his pains is our gain. We earn our spiritual success through the Lord's sacrifice. Hallelujah. We want to thank you for your interest and patience in listening to this broadcast. We believe that you have been blessed. Please help share with as many people as possible. The power to remain resolute in this, please grant us, Lord. We will not fall nor falter through our trials. Your spirit will top hold us to the end. Thank you, Lord, our Redeemer. Blessed be your name forever. In Jesus' mighty name, we have prayed. Amen.
